The Alexis Collection was born from a single word—Joy!—but its roots run deeper than wax and wick.
There’s an old photo of my mom and me at the San Francisco airport in the ’70s—back when everything still felt good. When I started this business, I found that photo and made it my screen wallpaper. Ever since, it’s felt like she’s been here with me—inspiring me and helping me build.
It was my mom who introduced me to Maya Angelou in person. It was her who named me Alexis. Ours was a complicated relationship—tumultuous, really. But in creating this collection, I found peace. It’s like I’ve been able to choose what kind of relationship I want to carry forward. And what I’ve chosen is gratitude. The candle named Joy! is for her—and for the space she still holds in my story.
This collection is a collaboration—between me, my daughter, and the women who came before us. From our home to yours, we’re crafting not just candles, but messages. Meaning. Moments that matter.
